Who are we?

Students.

History students.

History of Natural History students.

…although we do hope to get our PhD’s and become Historians of Natural History.

We are working (at this moment) in and around the Leiden University, the University of Bern (Switzerland), the Netherlands Centre for Biodiversity Naturalis and the Radboud University in Nijmegen (The Netherlands). We discuss, ask about and doubt all kinds of theories and concepts related to the history of natural history. We give tips, criticisms and a pat on the shoulder to each other when needed. But most of all, we enjoy reading and talking about what we read. This blog is born from our need to keep in touch and informed. We also want to keep track of the themes that interest us and of our own discussions.

So yes, we’re guilty:  this is a blog by us, for us, from us and about us. However, we do believe in “the more, the merrier”, so every ‘History of Natural History’ student is welcome to join us. Leave your comments and engage in the discussions!
